Zine & Gallery Exhibition

This solo show featured work part of an ongoing investigation of tourist sites and similarly constructed "in between" spaces through an examination of simulated experience and the hyperreal. Due to it's irremovable stain of capitalism, an excess of simulated material, and a misplaced pride of naturalistic qualities, Rock City provides opportunity for infatuating experiences from which I built a studio practice.

In response to on-site research, this work reveals the underlying psychology shaped and defined by my interaction and observations of the space, and allows others to experience Rock City as I did through the sites, sounds, and set procedures that dominated my visits.

This show stemmed from a zine I made that acts as a psychogeographic map of Rock City.
